The Five Hundred Fragments contains as many short poems—some just a single line—each meant to stand on its own. The poet has selected more than eighty of them for this volume. The Grand Ghazal is a book-length poem that the poet describes as ‘the confessions of a lover, abundant and unbridled’, creating an unprecedented song that breaks free from borrowed conventions and exhausted language of the ghazal as we know it.
