Ce livre a un double objectif. Tout d’abord, il se veut une introduction à la pensée de cet auteur inclassable, souvent mal compris dans le monde francophone. Comment concevoir une introduction à la pensée de Jean Baudrillard sans recourir au commentaire académique, à l’exégèse classique ou à la brillance herméneutique ? Comment détourner le savoir totémique des universitaires, que Baudrillard lui-même disait haïr, tout en permettant aux lecteurs et aux curieux de faire une transition en douceur dans sa pensée et ses concepts. Le livre suit le format bien connu des « livres dont vous êtes le héros », ou fiction interactive, qui a connu un certain succès éditorial, en particulier auprès du jeune public. This book serves a dual purpose. Firstly, it is intended as an introduction to the thought of this unclassifiable author, who is often misunderstood in the French-speaking world. How can one conceive of an introduction to Jean Baudrillard's thought without resorting to academic commentary, classical exegesis or hermeneutic gloss? How can the totemic knowledge of academics, which Baudrillard himself said he loathed, be diverted, while enabling readers and the curious to make a smooth transition into his thought and concepts. The book follows the well-known format of "Books you are the hero", or interactive fiction, which has enjoyed a certain editorial success, particularly with young audiences. It thus organizes an interactive fiction around this author, mixing the biographical with the philosophical, the intimate with the conceptual, the propaedeutic with the burlesque. Three main narrative paths intertwine: that of Jean Baudrillard's life (a more or less fictionalized life, in the purest Baudrillardian tradition), that of a fictional double (this question haunts Baudrillard's work), and that of his philosophy, a more theoretical and abstract path.
